Brad Brockman holds an Honours degree in History and an undergraduate degree in History and Politics from the University of Cape Town. He worked at Equal Education, initially as a researcher and as a parent and youth organizer, and then as General Secretary of the organisation for three years. Before taking up his fellowship at the Centre, Brad was an Activist Fellow of the Bertha Foundation and the Social Change Initiative, researching student and youth activist movements in the USA, Brazil, Chile, India and Egypt. His work at the Centre will involve expanding engagement with student and youth activist struggles within the Centre’s political education programmes, and building relationships between South African and international activists.
