Freedom, NOW! Nkululeko, NGOKU! Vryheid, NOU! – a rallying cry during Apartheid that people were done waiting for freedom and would seize liberation themselves. We asked 75 young people from diverse neighbourhoods across the city to create visual and performing arts responses to the theme of Freedom, Now!

Join us at 14h30 on Saturday the 31st of August to showcase their artistic responses told through art installation, song, dance, theatre and live performance – in our centre but also around the historic transit-hub of Mowbray. The pieces address a range of issues concerning young people such as such as Afrophobia, the meaning of the Freedom Charter today, corporate and political greed, and young people’s hopes and dreams.

Entrance is free but please rsvp to assist with planning and catering to: or 021 6853516
